Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children was born in Woodland Hills in 1956. She was raised by a mother who was a housewife and a father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three oldest brothers. Beginning at a very early age McCormick loved to sing as well as dance. She would also put on puppet shows for youngsters in the area. At the age of six, McCormick old, she won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency approached her and asked if she would like to enter the show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was during 1964, when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show Wind It up until It Breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected from a field of 1200 children who auditioned to play the eldest of three daughters towheaded in the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick told of how in the 5th season of the TV show she almost lost their virginity to brother Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was 16. It could have been as she describes. The timing for our relationship was not the right one.
